Description

Bang Bang Chicken is a flavor-packed dish with a crispy coating and a creamy, sweet, and subtly spicy sauce that captivates taste buds.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce
  • 2 tablespoon honey
  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken tenderloins
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Canola oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha sauce, and honey until smooth. Cover and set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, all-purpose flour, cornstarch, egg, Sriracha sauce, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and optional cayenne pepper until smooth. Add the chicken tenderloins and coat fully. Marinate for 10 minutes.
  3. Place the panko breadcrumbs on a plate. Remove each chicken tender from the marinade and coat with panko, pressing gently to adhere. Set aside on a clean plate.
  4. Heat canola oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches 365°F. Fry the coated chicken tenders in batches for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Transfer fried chicken to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Toss in the prepared Bang Bang Sauce until evenly coated.
  6. Serve the saucy chicken on a plate garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

Pairs well with Asian slaw, steamed rice, or a vibrant salad. For a lighter option, consider serving with iced tea or light beer.
