Description
A hearty, cheesy casserole that combines the flavors of a classic cheeseburger with crispy fries.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (10.5 ounce) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can (10.5 ounce) cheddar cheese soup
- 1 bag (28 ounce) frozen shoestring French fries
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 tablespoon pickle juice
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef with the diced onion and minced garlic. Drain any excess fat.
2. In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to create a delicious sauce.
3. Stir the cream of mushroom soup and cheddar cheese soup into the beef mixture, combining everything well. Transfer the beef mixture to a 7×11-inch casserole dish, then top it with the frozen French fries.
4. Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 35 minutes or until the fries are golden and crispy. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top and return it to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the cheese to melt and become gooey.
5. Let the Cheeseburger French Fry Casserole cool slightly before serving, then enjoy this comforting and indulgent dish!
Notes
To achieve a perfectly crispy topping, be sure to spread the frozen fries in an even layer and avoid overcrowding the dish. You can also try tossing the fries in a bit of oil or melted butter before layering them on top.
For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of dried herbs, such as oregano or basil, to the beef mixture. You can also experiment with different types of cheese, like pepper jack or mozzarella, to change up the taste profile.
