Description

Cheesy Ground Beef and Rice Casserole is a savory, creamy masterpiece that combines juicy ground beef, fluffy white rice, and melted cheddar cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cup cooked white rice
  • 1 can (10.5 ounce) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk or beef broth
  • 1 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and onion until the meat is cooked through and the onions are softened. Drain any excess fat, then stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk or broth, paprika, salt, and pepper to create the creamy sauce.
  3. Add the cooked rice and half of the shredded cheese to the beef mixture, then pour in the sauce and stir everything together until well combined.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 casserole dish and top with the remaining shredded cheese.
  5. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for 20 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. For an extra crispy top, broil the casserole for 2 minutes before serving.

Notes

Feel free to add diced bell peppers, peas, or spinach to boost nutritional value. You can assemble the casserole ahead of time and refrigerate it for up to 3 days before baking.
