Description

Cheesy Sausage Breakfast Bombs are a savory breakfast treat that combines the deliciousness of breakfast sausage, gooey melted cheese, and flaky biscuit dough. These bite-sized bombs are perfect for a quick breakfast, leisurely brunch, or as a fun party appetizer. With their golden, crispy exterior and scrumptious interior, they are sure to become a family favorite!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage (links or bulk)
  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • Optional: 2 tbsp finely chopped chives
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 beaten egg (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cooked sausage with shredded cheddar cheese, softened cream cheese, chives (if using), garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  4. Open the biscuit dough and separate each biscuit. Flatten each biscuit into a round shape.
  5. Place a spoonful of the sausage and cheese mixture in the center of each flattened biscuit. Fold the edges over the filling and pinch to seal.
  6. Arrange the bombs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
  7. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Notes

For extra flavor, feel free to add diced vegetables like bell peppers or onions to the filling. You can also use different cheese varieties like pepper jack for a spicy twist. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or frozen uncooked for up to 2 months.
