Description
Chicken Alfredo Sloppy Joes are a creamy twist on a classic dish, featuring ground chicken, Alfredo sauce, and melted cheeses on toasted buns.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup Alfredo sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 4 hamburger buns, toasted
- Fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground chicken and chopped onion. Cook, breaking up the meat with a spatula, until the chicken is no longer pink and the onion is translucent – about 5 to 7 minutes.
2. Once the chicken and onion are cooked, stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute, until the aroma becomes irresistible.
3. Pour the Alfredo sauce into the skillet and let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken slightly.
4. Stir in the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses until fully incorporated and the mixture is velvety smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
5. Spoon the Chicken Alfredo mixture onto the toasted hamburger buns. Garnish with fresh basil and serve.
Notes
For a spicier version, incorporate crushed red pepper flakes or diced jalapeños. You can also use homemade Alfredo sauce for enhanced flavor.
