Ingredients
- 12 ounce chicken sausage, sliced into rounds
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 cup broccoli florets
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)
Instructions
1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
2. Add the sliced chicken sausage to the hot skillet and cook until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove the sausage from the pan and set it aside.
3. In the same skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until fragrant and translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
4. Toss in the broccoli florets and orzo pasta, ensuring they are well-coated with the oil and sautéed onions and garlic.
5. Pour in the chicken broth, season with salt and pepper, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until the pasta is tender and liquid is mostly absorbed.
6. Stir the reserved chicken sausage back into the skillet until heated through.
7. Serve hot, garnished with Parmesan cheese if desired.
Notes
