Description

Churro Saltine Toffee is a delightful and unique treat that combines the best of both worlds – the salty crunch of saltine crackers and the sweet, cinnamon-infused bliss of toffee.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 package saltine crackers

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter and brown sugar together, stirring constantly until boiling. Let bubble for about 3 minutes while stirring.
  4. Quickly pour the toffee over the arranged saltine crackers on the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly with a spatula.
  5. Bake for 5-6 minutes until the toffee is bubbling and the crackers have started to brown slightly.
  6. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the top immediately after removing from the oven.
  7. Allow to cool slightly, then transfer to the refrigerator and chill for 1-2 hours until fully hardened.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. Can be served with vanilla ice cream or coffee.
