Description
Cream Cheese Chicken is the ultimate comfort food that’s sure to impress your family and friends. With its rich, creamy sauce and perfectly cooked chicken, this dish is a winner all around.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoon olive oil or butter
- 1 packet (8 ounce) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning or dried herbs
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley or chives, chopped for garnish
Instructions
1. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning on both sides. Let them sit for a minute to absorb the flavors.
2. Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and cook for about 5–7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F. Remove the chicken and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, sauté the minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the softened cream cheese and chicken broth, stirring until the mixture is creamy and smooth.
4. Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning the cream cheese sauce over the top. If desired, sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
5. Cover the skillet and cook for an additional 5 minutes to allow the sauce to blend and the cheese to melt.
6. Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley or chives. Serve warm with your choice of sides, such as rice, pasta, or steamed vegetables.
Notes
The key to perfectly cooked Cream Cheese Chicken is to avoid overcooking the chicken. By searing it in the skillet first and then finishing it in the creamy sauce, you’ll end up with juicy, tender chicken that’s infused with flavor in every bite.
