Ingredients
For the Shrimp:
-
1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
1 tsp paprika
-
½ tsp black pepper
-
½ tsp salt
For the Sauce:
-
2 tbsp unsalted butter
-
4 cloves garlic, minced or pureed
-
1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
-
½ cup chicken broth (or white wine)
-
½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
-
1 tsp Italian seasoning
-
¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
Garnish:
-
Fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
-
Season Shrimp: Toss the shrimp with olive oil, paprika, salt, and black pepper in a bowl until evenly coated.
-
Sear Shrimp: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the shrimp for about 2–3 minutes per side, until they turn pink and opaque. Remove them from the skillet and set them aside.
-
Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the chicken broth (or white wine), and bring it to a simmer. Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using). Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
-
Combine: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, and stir to coat them in the creamy sauce. Simmer for another minute to heat through.
-
Serve & Garnish: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the dish and serve it with pasta, rice, or crusty bread. Enjoy!
Notes
-
For a dairy-free version, substitute the heavy cream with coconut cream and use dairy-free Parmesan.
-
If you prefer a lighter sauce, you can replace half of the cream with chicken broth.
-
Make sure not to overcook the shrimp, as they can become tough if cooked for too long.
-
You can easily double or halve the recipe depending on the number of servings needed.
