Description

This creamy garlic shrimp recipe is quick, easy, and packed with bold flavors. Succulent shrimp are seared to perfection and coated in a rich, velvety garlic cream sauce. It’s a versatile dish that pairs beautifully with pasta, rice, or crusty bread. Perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner or a special occasion!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Shrimp:

  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp salt

For the Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced or pureed

  • 1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)

  • ½ cup chicken broth (or white wine)

  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Garnish:

  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Season Shrimp: Toss the shrimp with olive oil, paprika, salt, and black pepper in a bowl until evenly coated.

  2. Sear Shrimp: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the shrimp for about 2–3 minutes per side, until they turn pink and opaque. Remove them from the skillet and set them aside.

  3. Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the chicken broth (or white wine), and bring it to a simmer. Stir in the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using). Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

  4. Combine: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, and stir to coat them in the creamy sauce. Simmer for another minute to heat through.

  5. Serve & Garnish: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the dish and serve it with pasta, rice, or crusty bread. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For a dairy-free version, substitute the heavy cream with coconut cream and use dairy-free Parmesan.

  • If you prefer a lighter sauce, you can replace half of the cream with chicken broth.

  • Make sure not to overcook the shrimp, as they can become tough if cooked for too long.

  • You can easily double or halve the recipe depending on the number of servings needed.
