Ingredients
- 1 pound chicken breast, cooked and shredded
- 1 cup buffalo sauce
- 8 ounce mozzarella cheese, cut into sticks
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
1. Start by mixing the shredded chicken with the buffalo sauce in a bowl until the chicken is evenly coated. This creates the flavorful core of our Crispy Buffalo Chicken Bacon Mozzarella Sticks.
2. Next, take a piece of mozzarella cheese and wrap it with the buffalo chicken, then wrap that with a slice of bacon. Secure the bundle with a toothpick if needed.
3. In three separate shallow bowls, place the flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. This will be your breading station for dredging the mozzarella sticks.
4. Dredge each buffalo chicken-wrapped mozzarella stick in the flour, dip it in the beaten eggs, and then coat it in the seasoned breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to help the breading adhere.
5. In a deep skillet, heat vegetable oil to 350°F. Fry the breaded mozzarella sticks in batches for 3-4 minutes until they’re golden brown and crispy. Remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.
Notes
These Crispy Buffalo Chicken Bacon Mozzarella Sticks are best served hot, straight out of the fryer. They pair perfectly with extra buffalo sauce for dipping, as well as cool, creamy ranch or blue cheese dressing. Serve them as the star of your appetizer spread, alongside celery sticks, carrot sticks, or other game day favorites.
