Description

Crispy Parmesan Onion Ring Chips are a snack that’s sure to delight your taste buds and have you craving more. With their savory, cheesy, and crispy texture, these chips are a versatile and healthier alternative to traditional fried onion rings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 medium yellow or white onions
  • 8 ounce shredded Parmesan cheese (divided)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha or hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the onions into 1/4-inch thick rounds, then separate them into individual rings. Pat the onion rings dry with paper towels.
  3. Spread half of the Parmesan cheese evenly across the parchment-lined baking sheet. Arrange the onion rings in a single layer on top of the cheese.
  4. Lightly brush or spray the onion rings with olive oil, then sprinkle the garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and black pepper over the top.
  5. Finish by sprinkling the remaining Parmesan cheese evenly over the onion rings.
  6. Slide the baking sheet into the preheated oven and let the chips bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Let the chips cool on the pan for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve warm, either on their own or with an optional dipping sauce made from mayonnaise, sriracha, and lime juice.
