- 2 medium yellow or white onions
- 8 ounce shredded Parmesan cheese (divided)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon sriracha or hot sauce
- 1 teaspoon lime juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice the onions into 1/4-inch thick rounds, then separate them into individual rings. Pat the onion rings dry with paper towels.
- Spread half of the Parmesan cheese evenly across the parchment-lined baking sheet. Arrange the onion rings in a single layer on top of the cheese.
- Lightly brush or spray the onion rings with olive oil, then sprinkle the garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and black pepper over the top.
- Finish by sprinkling the remaining Parmesan cheese evenly over the onion rings.
- Slide the baking sheet into the preheated oven and let the chips bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Let the chips cool on the pan for about 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve warm, either on their own or with an optional dipping sauce made from mayonnaise, sriracha, and lime juice.
