Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1/2 cup Marsala wine
- 8 ounce cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
1. Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper.
2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
3. In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, chicken broth, and Marsala wine.
4. Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the crockpot. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken, then top with the sliced mushrooms. Cover and cook on the LOW setting for about 6 hours, or on the HIGH setting for about 3 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
5. Stir in the heavy cream just before serving to create a luscious, creamy sauce.
6. Transfer the Easy Crockpot Chicken Marsala to plates, spooning the sauce over the chicken.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, substitute the heavy cream with coconut milk or a non-dairy creamer. You can also swap the Marsala wine for a dry sherry or Madeira wine if needed.
