Ingredients
- 1 lb button or cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal (optional, for extra crunch)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon dried dill
- 1 teaspoon parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (to adjust consistency
Instructions
1. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, dill, parsley, salt, and black pepper. Add milk to thin the dressing to desired consistency and refrigerate.
2. In a shallow bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
3. In another bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.
4. Dip each mushroom slice into the egg mixture, then dredge in the flour mixture.
5. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet to 350°F (175°C) and fry mushrooms for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
6. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with ranch dressing.
