- 1 1/2 pound sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 pound Yukon Gold potatoes, diced into 1/2-inch cubes
- 4 tablespoon unsalted butter, divided
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat the cubed steak dry with paper towels and season generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Heat a large cast-iron skillet over medium heat and add olive oil and 2 tablespoon of butter.
- Once the butter has melted, add the diced potatoes to the pan and season with Italian seasoning, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook until golden brown and fork-tender, about 10-12 minutes.
- Increase the heat to high and add the remaining 2 tablespoon of butter to the skillet.
- Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic and stir for about 30 seconds.
- Add the seasoned steak cubes in a single layer to the hot skillet and sear for about 1 minute without stirring.
- Flip the steak bites and cook for another 1-2 minutes depending on desired doneness.
- Return the cooked potatoes to the skillet and toss everything together to coat in the garlic butter sauce.
- Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
To store leftovers, allow the dish to cool to room temperature before transferring it to an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
