Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Pat the steak pieces dry with paper towels and season them generously with salt and pepper on all sides.
- Heat the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak pieces in a single layer and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until golden-brown.
- Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoon of butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the beef broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Stir in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Whisk in the Parmesan cheese until melted into the sauce. Add Italian seasoning and optional red pepper flakes.
- Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
- Return the seared steak to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce. Simmer together for 1-2 minutes.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
