Description

Grandma’s Crispy Maple Bacon Meatloaf is the ultimate comfort food, featuring savory beef, crunchy bacon, and a sweet maple glaze.

Ingredients

  • Ground beef
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Eggs
  • Milk
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Dried thyme
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Crispy bacon
  • Maple syrup
  • Ketchup

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix until well incorporated.

3. Shape the meatloaf mixture into a loaf and place it in the prepared pan. Lay the bacon slices over the top, tucking the ends underneath.

4. In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup and ketchup. Brush half over the bacon-wrapped meatloaf, reserving the rest.

5. Bake for 45 minutes, then brush the remaining glaze on top and bake for another 15 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

6. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Pairs well with mashed potatoes, green beans, or a garden salad.

For crispy bacon, partially cook it before placing it on top of the meatloaf.
