Description

Grandma’s Crispy Maple Bacon Meatloaf is the ultimate comfort food that will have your family coming back for seconds (and maybe thirds!). With its irresistible blend of savory beef, crunchy bacon, and sweet maple glaze, this meatloaf is sure to become a new family favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup ketchup

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a loaf pan with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix until well incorporated.

3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in the prepared pan. Lay the bacon slices over the top.

4. In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup and ketchup. Brush half of this mixture over the meatloaf.

5. Bake for 45 minutes. Brush the remaining glaze over the top and continue baking for another 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.

6. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Pairs beautifully with mashed potatoes, green beans, or a fresh garden salad. Consider serving it with macaroni and cheese or roasted vegetables for a heartier meal.
