Description
Honey Garlic Chicken Breasts are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that combines the sweet and tangy flavors of honey and garlic, creating a mouthwatering masterpiece perfect for a weeknight dinner or a weekend gathering.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 2 pound total)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 2 teaspoon water
- Optional: chopped green onion and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and minced garlic. Set the sauce aside.
Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Place the all-purpose flour in a shallow dish and dredge each chicken breast until fully coated.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
Pour the sauce into the pan and let it sizzle for 1 minute. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and simmer for 10 minutes.
In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Uncover the pan, add the slurry, and stir until the sauce thickens and the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
Transfer the Honey Garlic Chicken Breasts to plates. Drizzle the extra sauce over the top and garnish with chopped green onion and sesame seeds, if desired.
Notes
Chicken is a fantastic source of lean protein. Honey contains antioxidants and has antimicrobial properties. This recipe is a healthier alternative to many other chicken dishes.
