Description

A vibrant fusion of fresh, juicy tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and fragrant basil tossed with perfectly al dente pasta for a delightful Italian Caprese Pasta Salad.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounce pasta (fusilli, penne, or your preference)
  • 2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup fresh mozzarella balls, halved
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, then add your chosen pasta. Cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta in a colander and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process. Set the pasta aside to cool completely.

2. Prepare the Ingredients: While the pasta is cooling, prepare your vegetables. Halve the cherry tomatoes and mozzarella balls, and chop the fresh basil leaves.

3. Combine the Salad: In a large mixing bowl, add the cooled pasta, halved cherry tomatoes, mozzarella balls, and chopped basil.

4. Dress the Salad: In a small bowl, whisk together the extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper.

5. Toss and Serve: Pour the dressing over the pasta salad and gently toss to coat all the ingredients evenly. Taste the salad and adjust the seasoning with additional salt, pepper, or balsamic vinegar if needed.

6. Chill (Optional): For best results, allow the salad to chill in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld together perfectly.

7. Serve and Enjoy: Your Italian Caprese Pasta Salad is now ready to be served. Enjoy it straight from the bowl or transfer it to a serving dish for a beautiful presentation.

Notes

This pasta salad pairs beautifully with a crisp white wine, a crusty loaf of Italian bread, or a simple green salad. You can also use the leftovers to create wraps, sandwiches, or as a topping for grilled chicken or fish.
