Description
Unlock the Flavors of Japan with This Irresistible Japanese BBQ Chicken Fried Rice
Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cup day-old cooked jasmine rice
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 1 cup mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 2 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
Instructions
1. In a large skillet or wok, heat a drizzle of oil over medium-high heat. Add the diced chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
2. Pour the BBQ sauce over the cooked chicken and stir to coat the pieces evenly. Allow the sauce to caramelize and create a sticky, flavorful glaze on the chicken.
3. Toss the mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn) into the skillet and sauté for 2-3 minutes, until they are tender-crisp.
4. Gently stir in the cooked jasmine rice and the soy sauce. Toss everything together until the rice is heated through and all the flavors are well combined.
5. Garnish the Japanese BBQ Chicken Fried Rice with the chopped green onions, then serve hot and enjoy the explosion of Japanese-inspired flavors!
Notes
Use day-old rice for the best texture – the grains will be drier and less likely to clump together.
Cook the vegetables just until tender-crisp to maintain their vibrant colors and crunchy bite.
Adjust the amount of BBQ sauce to your personal taste preferences, starting with the recommended amount and adding more if desired.
