Ingredients
- 1 pound kielbasa sausage
- 2 cup diced potatoes
- 1 cup diced onions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Slap Ya Mama® seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 10.5 ounce cheddar cheese soup
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a Dutch oven or large stockpot, add the sliced kielbasa sausage and about 1/2 cup of water. Cook over medium heat until the water evaporates and the sausage lightly browns. Add the diced onions and cook for 3-4 minutes, then add the minced garlic until the onions become translucent.
3. Add the diced potatoes to the pot. Pour in the chicken broth, heavy cream, cheddar cheese soup, Slap Ya Mama® seasoning, and black pepper. Stir until well combined, bring to a boil, then turn off the heat and stir in the shredded sharp cheddar cheese.
4. Transfer the mixture to a prepared baking dish. Optionally, sprinkle extra sharp cheddar cheese on top. Cover with foil and bake for 65-75 minutes until the potatoes are tender. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes for a golden-brown top.
5. Let sit for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, consider adding spices or fresh herbs like paprika or thyme. You can prepare the casserole a day ahead and store it unbaked in the refrigerator.
