Description
A savory, flavor-packed meal featuring tender ground beef, fragrant aromatics, and a delightful blend of soy, sesame, and spices.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 cup cooked rice
- Optional toppings: sesame seeds, sliced cucumber, kimchi, fried egg, pickled vegetables
Instructions
- Rinse 1 cup of rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine the rinsed rice with 2 cup of water in a pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes until the water is absorbed. Let sit for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
- Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and break it apart as it cooks. Brown the beef until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add the minced garlic and ginger to the browned beef. Sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Stir in the soy sauce and sesame oil, coating the beef evenly. Allow to simmer for a couple of minutes.
- Toss in the chopped green onions and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- To assemble, scoop a generous portion of cooked rice into a serving bowl. Top with the Korean ground beef mixture and garnish with optional toppings.
