Ingredients

  • 1 lb pasta
  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil. Crumble the Italian sausage into the pan and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the sausage from the pan and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, sauté the minced garlic and sun-dried tomatoes for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Deglaze the pan with a splash of chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits.
  3. Add the remaining chicken broth and heavy cream to the skillet. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and let the sauce simmer, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the cooked sausage and cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing everything together until well coated in the creamy sauce. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves and extra Parmesan cheese.
