A nostalgic twist on a classic, these Old School Pizza Burgers combine juicy beef, pizza sauce, and melted cheddar cheese on fluffy burger buns.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 6 burger buns, halved
- 1 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large skillet set over medium heat, cook the ground beef until it’s no longer pink. Drain any excess grease.
3. Stir in the pizza sauce and Italian seasoning. Allow to simmer for 2-3 minutes.
4. Place the halved burger buns on the prepared baking sheet. Spoon the beef mixture onto each bottom bun half and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
5. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 5-7 minutes or in the microwave for 30-60 seconds.
