Pepperoni Rolls are the perfect combination of gooey mozzarella, savory pepperoni, and a soft, pillowy dough. This easy-to-make treat is perfect for parties, snacks, or even a satisfying meal. The warm, cheesy interior paired with the crispy, golden exterior will have everyone coming back for more. With a simple garlic butter topping, these rolls are a flavor-packed indulgence you won’t be able to resist!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Dough:

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast

  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F)

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 large egg

For the Filling:

  • 24 slices beef or turkey pepperoni

  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano

For the Topping (Optional):

  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes, then cover the bowl with a clean towel and let it rise in a warm area for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

  • Roll Out the Dough: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle, about 1/4-inch thick.

  • Add the Filling: Layer the pepperoni slices evenly over the dough, followed by the shredded mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle garlic powder and oregano evenly over the top.

  • Roll and Slice: Starting from one edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Slice into 12 rolls and place them on a greased baking sheet.

  • Bake: Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

  • Optional Topping: While the rolls are baking, melt the butter and mix in garlic powder. Once the rolls are done, brush them with the garlic butter and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley.

  • Serve & Enjoy: Serve the rolls warm and enjoy the cheesy, pepperoni-packed goodness!

Notes

  • For a gluten-free version, swap out regular flour for a gluten-free all-purpose flour blend.

  • You can use turkey pepperoni as a lighter alternative to the classic beef pepperoni.

  • If you don’t have Parmesan cheese, feel free to use any hard cheese, like Pecorino Romano.

  • The rolls are best served fresh out of the oven, but they can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

  • If you prefer a spicier flavor, add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes to the filling.
