Description

Start your day off right with a hearty and satisfying Sausage and Egg Casserole! This comforting dish combines savory breakfast sausage, fluffy eggs, melty cheese, and fresh vegetables – all baked together for a flavor-packed meal that’s perfect for breakfast, brunch, or even dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cup bread cubes
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, diced
  • 4 green onions, sliced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until it’s browned and crumbly. Drain any excess grease.

3. In the same skillet, sauté the bell peppers and onions for 2-3 minutes until they’re softened.

4. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cheese, salt, and pepper.

5. Add the cooked sausage, sautéed vegetables, and bread cubes to the egg mixture. Stir to combine everything evenly.

6. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out in an even layer.

7. Bake the casserole uncovered for 35-50 minutes, until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.

8. Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different types of sausage, cheeses, and veggies to suit your family’s preferences.
