Description
Slow Cooker Sausage and Potato Casserole is a hearty dish blending savory sausage, tender potatoes, and a creamy cheese sauce, all cooked to perfection in the slow cooker.
Ingredients
- 1 pound smoked sausage or kielbasa
- 2 cup diced potatoes or frozen hash browns
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (10.5 ounce) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley (optional)
Instructions
1. Slice the sausage into rounds and dice the onion. If using fresh potatoes, peel and dice them into bite-sized pieces.
2. Start by layering the potatoes, sausage, and onion in your greased slow cooker.
3. In a separate bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, sour cream, and all the seasonings. Pour this mixture over the layered ingredients in the slow cooker.
4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the potatoes are tender.
5. During the last 15 minutes of cooking, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole.
6. Finish by sprinkling a little dried parsley on top, if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!
