Description

Slow Cooker Steak and Cheddar Potato Casserole is the ultimate comfort food that’s easy to prepare. Tender chunks of beef, creamy potatoes, and melty cheddar cheese come together in one delicious, hands-off dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pound beef steak
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 2 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 2 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

1. Lightly grease the interior of your slow cooker to prevent sticking.

2. In the prepared slow cooker, layer the steak, potatoes, onion, and seasonings.

3. Pour in the beef broth, heavy cream, and Worcestershire sauce, then gently stir to combine everything.

4. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the potatoes and steak are tender.

5. About 30 minutes before serving, sprinkle 1 1/2 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole. Cover and continue cooking until the cheese has melted.

6. Top with the remaining 1/2 cup of cheddar cheese and a sprinkle of fresh parsley, if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

Adjust seasonings to suit your taste preferences.

Choose the right steak; sirloin or chuck work well.

Dicing the potatoes into bite-sized pieces helps them cook evenly.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
