Description

Spaghetti Garlic Bread is a delightful fusion of two beloved Italian classics – spaghetti and garlic bread. By stuffing the spaghetti and meat sauce into a crispy, garlic-buttered bread loaf and topping it with melted cheese, you create a truly irresistible dish that’s sure to impress your family and friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large Italian bread loaf
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 7 ounce dry spaghetti, cooked
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 small onion, diced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions until it’s al dente. Drain the pasta and set it aside for later.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the diced onion over medium heat. Drain any excess fat. Then, add the tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer the mixture for about 5 minutes, and finally, toss the cooked spaghetti into the sauce.
  3. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Slice the Italian bread loaf in half lengthwise, and then hollow out some of the bread interior, leaving a border around the edges. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with garlic powder, and spread the mixture over the cut sides of the bread. Toast the bread halves in the oven for 5-7 minutes until lightly crisp.
  4. Spoon the spaghetti and meat sauce mixture into the toasted bread halves. Generously top with the shredded mozzarella cheese and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
  5. Place the assembled Spaghetti Garlic Bread in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and starting to brown.
  6. Once the Spaghetti Garlic Bread is hot and bubbly, slice it up and serve it immediately.

Notes

To prevent the bread from becoming soggy, be sure to thoroughly toast the bread halves before assembling the dish.
