Description

Crispy, flavorful, and oh-so-satisfying – that’s the essence of these mouthwatering Spicy Fish Nuggets. Whether you’re craving a tasty appetizer, a quick snack, or a fun family meal, these irresistible bites are sure to hit the spot. Featuring a delightful blend of spices and a crunchy panko breading, these spicy fish nuggets are the perfect combination of heat and crispiness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 300 grams boneless white fish, cut into cubes
  • ¾ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 4 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 12 teaspoon peri peri seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon crushed black pepper
  • 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour

Instructions

1. Prepare the Fish: Pat the fish cubes completely dry and cut them into uniform 1-inch pieces.

2. Create the Spice Marinade: In a bowl, combine the vinegar, peri peri seasoning, ginger garlic paste, salt, black pepper, and 2 tablespoon of flour. Mix into a smooth paste.

3. Marinate the Fish: Toss the fish cubes in the spice mixture until they’re evenly coated. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes (or up to 2 hours in the fridge for even more flavor).

4. Set Up the Breading Station: In separate dishes, prepare the remaining flour, the egg wash (beaten egg and milk), and the panko breadcrumbs mixed with dried parsley.

5. Bread the Fish Nuggets: For each piece of fish, dredge it in the flour (shake off any excess), dip it in the egg wash, and then roll it in the seasoned panko breadcrumbs.

6. Cook the Nuggets: Heat oil in a pan or fryer to 350°F. Fry the breaded fish nuggets in batches for 3-4 minutes, turning them halfway, until they’re golden brown and crispy.

7. Drain and Serve: Remove the fried spicy fish nuggets from the oil and let them drain on paper towels or a wire rack. Serve them hot with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

To achieve that irresistible crunch, pay close attention to the frying temperature and technique. The key is to maintain the oil at a consistent 350°F throughout the cooking process. This ensures the spicy fish nuggets cook evenly and develop a delightfully crispy exterior without burning.

If you prefer a healthier option, you can also bake the breaded fish nuggets in the oven at 400°F for 15-20 minutes, flipping them halfway through. The panko breadcrumbs will still deliver a satisfying crunch, but with fewer calories from frying.
