Description
Steak and Queso Rice is a cheesy, hearty dish that combines tender sirloin steak, creamy queso cheese, and fluffy long-grain rice for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound sirloin steak
- 1 cup queso cheese
- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Cook the rice according to the package instructions and set it aside.
2. Season the sirloin steak with salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, and chili powder. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the steak for 3-4 minutes per side for medium doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest before slicing it thinly.
3. In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil, the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Cook the vegetables until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
4. Add the cooked rice to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables. Stir in the queso cheese until it’s melted and the mixture is creamy.
5. Top the Steak and Queso Rice with the sliced steak and serve warm.
Notes
Pairs well with a fresh green salad, roasted vegetables, or warm cornbread.
