Ingredients
- 2 ribeye or New York strip steaks (about 1 inch thick)
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- Salt
- Pepper
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 2 garlic cloves
- Fresh thyme or rosemary (optional)
- 1/4 cup of bourbon
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Pat the steaks dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until hot.
3. Add the steaks and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness.
4. During the last minute of cooking, add the butter, smashed garlic, and fresh herbs to the pan, basting the steaks with the melted butter.
5. Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest.
6. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and carefully add the bourbon, cooking for 30 seconds to burn off the alcohol.
7. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
8. Stir in the butter, heavy cream, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
9. Simmer the sauce for 3-5 minutes to thicken slightly.
10. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and cook for another minute until creamy and smooth.
11. Serve the seared steaks on a plate and spoon the Haunted Bourbon Garlic Cream Sauce over the top. Garnish with fresh parsley.
