Description

Steakhouse Garlic Butter Mushrooms are a mouthwatering side dish that will transport your taste buds straight to the heart of a classic American steakhouse. These sautéed mushrooms, coated in a rich, garlicky butter sauce, are the perfect accompaniment to juicy grilled meats, hearty roasts, or even as a standalone vegetarian option.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 ounce mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoon butter, divided
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried tarragon
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon browning sauce (like Gravy Master), optional
  • Fresh chives, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Clean and prepare the mushrooms by gently wiping them with a damp cloth and trimming off any dry or discolored stem ends.
  2. Heat a medium skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter. Once the butter has melted, add the mushrooms and sprinkle them with kosher salt. Cook undisturbed for about 3 minutes.
  3. While the mushrooms are cooking, combine the paprika, onion powder, dried oregano, dried tarragon, black pepper, and chili powder in a small bowl.
  4. Once the mushrooms have developed a nice sear, add the minced garlic and the prepared spice mix to the skillet. Stir and continue cooking for an additional 1 to 2 minutes.
  5. If desired, stir in the browning sauce and cook for another 1 to 2 minutes.
  6. Pour in the Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce. Stir and allow the mushrooms to cook for another 2 to 3 minutes.
  7. Stir in the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter until melted and fully incorporated.
  8. Garnish with chopped chives before serving.

Notes

Steakhouse Garlic Butter Mushrooms make the perfect accompaniment to grilled steaks, roasted chicken, or as a stand-alone vegetarian option.
