Description

Indulge in the Delectable Delight of Stuffed Seafood Soup Bread Bowls

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large bread bowls
  • 1/2 pound shrimp, peeled, deveined, and chopped
  • 1/2 pound lump crab meat
  • 4 ounce cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the top off each bread bowl and carefully hollow out the inside, leaving about a half-inch border on the bottom and sides. Set aside the bread tops and hollowed-out insides for dipping.
  3. In a medium pan over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the chopped shrimp and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until pink. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream, Old Bay seasoning, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  5. Gently fold in the cooked shrimp, crab meat, mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, and fresh parsley. Mix until everything is evenly distributed and the mixture is thick and creamy.
  6. Evenly divide the seafood mixture between the two hollowed-out bread bowls. Pack the filling in tightly.
  7. Place the stuffed bread bowls on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bread is golden and crispy.
  8. Remove the Stuffed Seafood Soup Bread Bowls from the oven, sprinkle with extra fresh parsley, and serve warm. Enjoy with the toasted bread pieces for dipping.

Notes

Choose a sturdy bread like sourdough or French bread to hold the filling.

Be careful not to overcook the shrimp to avoid rubbery texture.

Aim for a thick, creamy filling that holds its shape when scooped.
