Description
Tater Tot Casserole with Ground Beef is a comforting, family-friendly dish that combines the heartiness of ground beef, the creaminess of a savory sauce, and the irresistible crunch of tater tots.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup corn, frozen
- 1 cup green beans, frozen
- 32 ounce frozen tater tots
- 2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a large saucepan over medium-high heat for 6-8 minutes until nicely browned. Add the diced onion and sauté for 5 minutes until soft and translucent.
- Melt the butter in the pan, then whisk in the flour. Cook for 1-2 minutes to create a roux. Gradually pour in the beef broth and milk, whisking continuously to prevent lumps. Simmer until thickened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking pan. Spread the meat and vegetable mixture into the bottom of the pan, then top with a layer of frozen tater tots. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
- Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is warm and bubbly.
- Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
