Description

Tater Tot Casserole with Ground Beef is a comforting, family-friendly dish that combines the heartiness of ground beef, the creaminess of a savory sauce, and the irresistible crunch of tater tots.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup corn, frozen
  • 1 cup green beans, frozen
  • 32 ounce frozen tater tots
  • 2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large saucepan over medium-high heat for 6-8 minutes until nicely browned. Add the diced onion and sauté for 5 minutes until soft and translucent.
  2. Melt the butter in the pan, then whisk in the flour. Cook for 1-2 minutes to create a roux. Gradually pour in the beef broth and milk, whisking continuously to prevent lumps. Simmer until thickened, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking pan. Spread the meat and vegetable mixture into the bottom of the pan, then top with a layer of frozen tater tots. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
  4. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is warm and bubbly.
  5. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Leftover Tater Tot Casserole can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat covered with foil in a 350°F oven until warmed through.
