- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheese blend (cheddar and Monterey Jack)
- 1 cup cooked ground beef or turkey, seasoned with taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup salsa
- 2 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions
- Start by boiling the potatoes in salted water for about 15-20 minutes, or until fork-tender.
- Once the potatoes are boiled, drain them and gently smash each potato to about half an inch thick.
- While smashing the potatoes, preheat your air fryer to 400°F.
- Drizzle the smashed potatoes with olive oil and season with chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer and cook for about 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Once the potatoes are crispy, remove them from the air fryer and top each with seasoned ground beef or turkey and shredded cheese.
- Return the loaded potatoes to the air fryer for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts.
- Drizzle with sour cream and salsa, then sprinkle with fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes
For maximum crispiness, allow the potatoes to cool slightly after boiling.
Experiment with different seasonings and cheeses for variety.
Substitute ground beef or turkey with shredded grilled chicken if desired.
Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated in the air fryer at 350°F.
