Ingredients
Scale
- 20 cooked breakfast sausage links
- 1 can (8 ounce) refrigerated crescent roll dough sheets
- OR 1 can refrigerated cinnamon roll dough for a sweeter version
- 2 large eggs
- 3 tablespoon whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoon pure maple syrup
- 2 to 3 tablespoon whole milk or cream
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Warm maple syrup
- Powdered sugar for dusting, optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray with cooking spray.
- In a skillet over medium-low heat, cook breakfast sausage links until browned and cooked through. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate.
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, whole milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and maple syrup until smooth.
- Unroll crescent dough sheets and cut into 20 equal triangular pieces.
- Brush each piece of dough lightly with custard wash. Place one sausage link at the wider end of each triangle and roll up tightly, pressing the seam to seal.
- Arrange wrapped sausages seam side down on the baking sheet, spacing them apart. Brush tops with custard wash and bake for 12 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
- In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, pure maple syrup, whole milk or cream, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
- Drizzle warm maple glaze over the baked pigs in a blanket or serve as a dipping sauce.
