Description

Creamy bacon carbonara pasta bake is a comforting dish with perfectly cooked pasta, rich creamy sauce, crispy bacon, and bubbling cheese.


Ingredients

  • 12 ounce penne pasta
  • 6 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large pot, boil the penne pasta in salted water until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon and drain on paper towels.
  4. In the same skillet, add the diced onion and sauté until soft. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, grated Parmesan cheese, black pepper, and salt until smooth.
  6. In a large bowl, toss the cooked pasta with the crispy bacon, sautéed onion, garlic, and creamy egg mixture until well coated.
  7. Pour the pasta mixture into a greased baking dish and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven, allow to cool slightly, and garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Notes
