Description

Garlic Steak Bites and Potatoes is a sumptuous dish that transforms humble ingredients into a flavorful feast. This dish is all about the fragrant garlic that enhances the natural savory flavors of the steak and crispy, tender baby potatoes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 pound sirloin steak
  • 1 pound baby potatoes
  • 3 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat the steak bites dry with paper towels. In a bowl, toss the meat with garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add halved potatoes cut side down in a single layer. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook undisturbed for 4 to 5 minutes until golden brown. Flip and cook for another 4 to 5 minutes until fork-tender. Remove to a plate.
  3. Increase the skillet heat to high and add the remaining olive oil. Place the steak bites in a single layer and sear for 1 to 2 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and keep warm.
  4. Reduce heat to medium-low and add the remaining 2 tablespoon of butter to the skillet. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 to 60 seconds until golden and aromatic.
  5. Return the cooked potatoes and seared steak bites to the skillet. Toss together in the garlic butter and cook for an extra 1 to 2 minutes to heat through.
  6. Transfer to a serving platter or serve from the skillet. Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

For a low-carb version, swap potatoes for cauliflower. Use olive oil instead of butter for a lighter option.
