Description

Hot Honey Chicken Tenders are all about that perfect combination of sweet and spicy that makes your taste buds dance. These crispy, juicy morsels of chicken are dipped in a finger-licking hot honey sauce that elevates them from your everyday chicken dish to an irresistible treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound chicken tenderloins
  • 2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken tenderloins in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes, or overnight for best results.
  2. In a wide shallow bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  4. Carefully lower 3 to 4 chicken tenders into the hot oil and fry for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side until deep golden brown and cooked through.
  5. After frying, let the chicken tenders drain on a plate lined with paper towels.
  6. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine honey, hot sauce, crushed red pepper flakes, cayenne pepper, butter, and apple cider vinegar. Stir until the butter melts and all ingredients meld together.
  7. Transfer the fried chicken tenders to a large bowl and drizzle the hot honey sauce over them. Toss gently to coat evenly.

Notes

Serve with a side of crispy fries, fresh salad, or creamy coleslaw. Offer extra hot honey sauce for dipping.
