- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 6 ounce cream cheese, softened
- 1 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 to 3 jalapenos, sliced or diced
- 4 to 6 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, 3/4 cup of the shredded cheddar, jalapenos, bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well-incorporated.
- Roll out the puff pastry lightly on a floured surface, then spread the creamy filling over half of the pastry. Fold the other half over the filling and press gently to seal.
- Slice the filled pastry into even strips, then twist each strip to create the signature twists. Arrange on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush each twist with the beaten egg and sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the top.
- Bake for 15 to 25 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
- Serve warm and enjoy.
