Pizza Burgers combine two beloved comfort foods into a delightful dish that’s perfect for any occasion. Imagine juicy beef patties or rich meat mixtures topped with all your favorite pizza ingredients, all sandwiched between soft buns! Whether you’re hosting a party, having a casual family dinner, or simply craving something delicious, Pizza Burgers are sure to satisfy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or 4 slices mozzarella
  • 12 to 16 slices pepperoni, optional
  • 4 hamburger buns or 4 English muffins, split
  • Melted butter for toasting buns
  • Parsley
  • Parmesan

Instructions

  1. Start by seasoning the ground beef. In a large bowl, combine the beef with the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Use your hands to mix everything well but be careful not to overwork the meat to keep it tender.
  2. Shape the seasoned beef into four equal patties. Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat and cook each patty for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 160°F for a perfectly cooked burger.
  3. If you prefer an open-faced version, brown the seasoned ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until it’s fully cooked. Once done, stir in some pizza sauce to create a rich, flavorful meat mixture.
  4. Once your patties are cooked or you’ve prepared your meat mixture, spoon a generous amount of pizza sauce over each patty or open-faced bun. Then, add your shredded mozzarella or place mozzarella slices on top. If you’re feeling adventurous, layer on the pepperoni slices as well.
  5. To ensure your cheese melts beautifully, cover the burgers with a lid for a minute or place them under a broiler for a brief period. This method allows the heat to distribute evenly, ensuring every bit of cheese is gooey and delicious!
  6. If you like your burgers with a little extra crunch, consider toasting the buns. Brush them lightly with melted butter and place them under the broiler for a couple of minutes until they’re golden brown.

Notes

To serve, place your Pizza Burgers on a nice platter, garnishing with parsley for a pop of color. You can also sprinkle some grated Parmesan on top for extra flair.
