Description

Deliciously Easy Sheet Pan Sausage and Peppers with Melty Cheese

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 2 cup bell peppers, sliced
  • 1 cup onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or provolone cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil or parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a large sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Place the sausage, bell peppers, and onion on the prepared sheet pan. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Toss everything together until well coated.
  3. Spread the mixture evenly and roast for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the sausage is cooked through and the peppers and onions are tender and slightly charred.
  4. Remove the pan from the oven and top everything with shredded mozzarella or provolone. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5 to 7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Finish with fresh basil or parsley and a sprinkle of grated Parmesan. Serve hot straight from the pan for maximum flavor and minimal cleanup.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different types of sausage, such as chicken or turkey sausage, for a healthier twist. You can also swap in other vegetables, like zucchini, mushrooms, or broccoli, for added variety.
