Description

Ingredients

  • 2 pound beef stew meat
  • 2 cup beef broth
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 packets brown gravy mix
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water (if needed for thickening)

Instructions

  1. Place the beef stew meat, onion, and garlic in the slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the beef broth, brown gravy mix, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and cream of mushroom soup if using.
  3. Pour the mixture over the beef. Cover and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours or on high for 4 to 5 hours, until the beef is tender.
  4. Stir in the cornstarch slurry during the last 10 to 15 minutes if you want a thicker gravy.
