Description
Slow Cooker Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwiches are the ultimate comfort food mash-up, blending tender shredded chicken, crispy bacon, and creamy ranch flavors for a delicious and easy-to-make meal.
Ingredients
- 2–3 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 packet (1 oz) ranch dressing mix
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 6–8 hamburger buns or brioche buns
- 8–12 strips bacon, cooked crispy
- 1 cup ranch dressing
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
- 2 large tomatoes, sliced
- ½ red onion, thinly sliced
- Pickle slices (optional)
- Cheese slices (optional)
Instructions
1. Place the chicken breasts in a slow cooker. Sprinkle the ranch mix, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper over the top. Pour in the chicken broth. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shredded.
2. Remove the cooked chicken from the slow cooker and use two forks to shred it into bite-sized pieces. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker, mixing it with the cooking juices to keep it moist and flavorful.
3. In a small bowl, combine the ranch dressing, sour cream, parsley, garlic powder, and lemon juice. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well-combined.
4. Toast the buns if desired. Place a generous portion of the shredded chicken onto each bun, then top with crispy bacon strips and a drizzle of the homemade ranch sauce. Finally, add your preferred fresh toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, or cheese slices.
Notes
For the most tender and juicy results, opt for boneless, skinless chicken breasts. You can use a combination of breasts and thighs if you prefer a richer, more flavorful chicken filling.
The blend of ranch seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper creates a delicious base for the slow-cooked chicken. Feel free to adjust the seasoning levels to suit your personal preferences.
Choose sturdy buns, such as brioche or hamburger buns, to support the hearty chicken and toppings. Toasting the buns before assembly can help them hold up better to the saucy filling.
