Description
Sticky Honey BBQ Bacon Bombs are the ultimate game-day, party, or anytime appetizer. These irresistible bites feature crispy bacon wrapped around a juicy, savory pork filling, all drizzled with a sweet and smoky honey barbecue sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound thick-cut bacon
- 1 pound ground pork
- 2 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoon chopped scallions
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cut each bacon strip in half and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, brown sugar, smoked paprika, and a generous drizzle of barbecue sauce. Mix until the ingredients are well incorporated.
- Scoop a portion of the pork mixture and roll it into a ball. Wrap a half-slice of bacon around each ball, overlapping the edges to form a tightly sealed shell. Repeat this process until all the pork mixture is used up.
- Arrange the bacon-wrapped pork balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart for even cooking. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the filling is cooked through.
- Remove the bacon bombs from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Drizzle the remaining barbecue sauce and honey over the tops, then sprinkle with the chopped scallions. Serve immediately, while hot and delicious!
Notes
Choose quality ingredients: Use thick-cut, high-quality bacon and freshly ground pork for the best texture and flavor.
Storage and reheating: Store any leftover bacon bombs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place them on a baking sheet and warm in a 350°F oven for 5-10 minutes, or until heated through.
