Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 pound sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoon butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water
Instructions
- Pat the sirloin steak pieces completely dry with paper towels and season all sides with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Let them rest for about five minutes.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil and butter. Once the butter foams, add the steak bites in a single layer and let them sear undisturbed for 1 to 2 minutes per side until browned. Transfer cooked pieces to a clean plate.
- In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Pour in Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and beef broth, stirring to combine and simmer briefly.
- Create a slurry by mixing cornstarch with water and pour it into the simmering sauce while stirring constantly. Return the seared steak bites to the skillet and toss gently until coated in the sauce.
Notes
Serve with creamy mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables. Pair with bold red wine or iced tea.
