Description

Dive into the vibrant and aromatic world of Thai cuisine with our mouthwatering Thai Basil Chicken recipe. Brimming with bold flavors and a satisfying texture, this dish is a true celebration of the beloved Thai basil and its ability to transform a simple stir-fry into a culinary masterpiece.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 2 tablespoon peanut oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 Thai chilies, sliced
  • 1 shallot, diced
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup Thai basil leaves
  • 2 cup cooked jasmine rice

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, sugar, and chicken broth. Set this sauce aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the minced garlic, sliced Thai chilies, and diced shallot. Stir-fry for 30 to 60 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the ground chicken to the pan. Use a spatula to break up the chicken as it cooks, stirring constantly for 2 to 4 minutes until no longer pink.
  4. Pour the prepared sauce into the pan and let it simmer for 1 to 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  5. Stir in the fresh Thai basil leaves and cook just until wilted, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  6. Spoon the Thai Basil Chicken over a bed of jasmine rice and enjoy.

Notes

Adjust the spice level by using more or fewer Thai chilies.

You can substitute Thai basil with Italian basil or holy basil if needed.
