Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1 (32 ounce) bag frozen tater tots
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoon mustard
  • 2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef along with the diced onion and minced garlic. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Stir in the salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the ketchup, barbecue sauce, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Fold this sauce mixture into the cooked beef.
  5. Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish and spread half of the frozen tater tots evenly on the bottom.
  6. Pour the beef mixture over the first layer of tater tots and spread it out evenly.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese and mozzarella cheese over the beef, then scatter the crumbled bacon on top.
  8. Layer the remaining tater tots over the cheese and bacon.
  9. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Sprinkle the chopped green onions on top before serving.

Notes

For best results, bake tater tots separately before layering to ensure they stay crispy.
